Kari van den Berg didn’t just want a fashion qualification, she wanted a challenge. Here’s how the BA in Fashion at FEDISA pushed her creative boundaries, taught her to thrive under pressure, and set her on the path to building her own brand.

What I love most about the BA in Fashion qualification is how fast-paced it is. As someone who thrives on staying engaged, this qualification keeps me on my toes at all times. There is never a dull moment, and the environment continually pushes me to stay sharp.

My favourite assignment so far has been this term’s group athleisure project. I don’t usually enjoy working in groups, but this project changed my perspective. It pushed my creative boundaries, challenged me to collaborate effectively, and gave me insight into real fashion industry standards and expectations.

I would highly recommend this qualification to anyone looking to expand their creative perspective within the fashion industry. FEDISA Fashion School is truly the place to find yourself, collaborate with others, and build a solid foundation for your future design goals.

After graduating, I would love to launch my own brand and establish an independent business within the next five years.

My experience at FEDISA has been incredibly rewarding, through meeting people who share my passion. The programme has been transformative and has taught me so much more than just design skills. It has taught me to adapt quickly to difficult situations, how to navigate the pressure of tight deadlines, and how to work with others to achieve certain outcomes. It is an intense journey, but it is shaping me into a resilient professional.
