GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Fashion Retail at FEDISA is a three-year degree that prepares students to operate within the strategic and operational environments of the fashion retail industry.
The programme focuses on the retail value chain, equipping students with skills in buying, merchandising, marketing, and business management to support product performance and brand growth.
Students develop capabilities in trend analysis, sourcing, consumer engagement, and retail strategy through a combination of theory and applied practice. The programme fosters analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and the ability to respond to the demands of a fast-paced retail environment.
Graduates are prepared for roles in fashion buying, merchandising, retail management, marketing, and product strategy within the local and global fashion industry.

THE STRUCTURE
The programme is structured around four integrated areas of study. All modules are compulsory and delivered on a weekly rotation, with selected components supported through blended learning.

FASHION THEORY
Includes: Fashion History & Trend Analysis, Communication & Social Studies
Develops an understanding of the cultural, social, and economic systems that shape fashion. Students build skills in trend analysis and forecasting to inform retail decision-making.

MERCHANDISING
Includes: Fashion Buying & Sourcing, Fashion Merchandising
Focuses on the retail value chain, including sourcing, procurement, and product planning. Students develop the ability to evaluate merchandise, manage supply processes, and align product strategies with market demand.
MARKETING & MEDIA
Includes: Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Marketing
Develops skills in brand communication and consumer engagement. Students learn to create and manage retail experiences through marketing, visual communication, and content development across platforms.

BUSINESS ADMIN
Includes: Business Principles & Practice, Fashion Retail Management, Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Builds an understanding of retail operations, performance analysis, and business strategy. Students develop the ability to manage retail environments and respond to commercial opportunities.


The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Fashion Retail offers students a high-level opportunity to engage the exciting world of fashion from a merchandising perspective rather than a product development and manufacture perspective.
