GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion at FEDISA is a three-year degree that prepares students to develop fashion concepts into resolved products within a commercial context.
The programme integrates design, garment construction, and business, equipping students with the creative, technical, and strategic skills required to operate within the fashion industry.
Students develop capabilities in conceptual design, technical execution, production processes, and brand development through a combination of theory and applied practice. The programme fosters independent thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to respond to evolving industry demands.
Graduates are prepared for roles in fashion design, product development, brand development, and fashion entrepreneurship.

THE STRUCTURE
The programme is structured around four integrated areas of study. Practical components are delivered in focused cycles, while theoretical components are presented on a weekly rotation. All modules are compulsory.

VISUAL STUDIES
Includes: Conceptual Design, Storyboarding, Fashion Illustration, Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
Develops the ability to conceptualise, visualise, and communicate design ideas through both manual and digital processes. Students learn to translate research and concept into resolved visual and three-dimensional outcomes.

CLOTHING TECHNOLOGY
Includes: Pattern Technology, Pattern Grading, Technical Drawing, Garment Technology, Textile Theory
Builds technical competence in garment construction and production processes. Students develop skills in pattern making, fabrication, and the translation of design concepts into technically resolved garments.

BUSINESS STUDIES
Includes: Business Principles & Practice, Fashion Retail Management, Production Management, Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Develops an understanding of the fashion business environment, including production, retail, and brand development. Students gain the skills to analyse opportunities, manage processes, and position products within the market.

LIFESTYLE STUDIES
Includes: Trend Analysis & Fashion History, Communication & Social Studies
Provides contextual understanding of fashion within cultural, social, and economic frameworks. Students develop the ability to analyse trends and communicate ideas effectively within professional environments.
