Teaching Assistant: Garment Construction and Pattern Making

FEDISA is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the lecturer in the practical subjects of garment construction and pattern making.

 

This role is ideal for a fashion graduate with a strong interest in sewing and pattern making, who aspires to pursue a career in

academia. Join our team and help shape the future of fashion education!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Tech Lab Assistance:

● Assist students in utilizing equipment and tools in the tech lab.

● Provide guidance on garment construction techniques and pattern making processes.

● Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of lab equipment and supplies.

2. Student Support:

● Offer one-on-one assistance to students during lab sessions.

● Assist lecturer in providing constructive feedback on student projects and assignments.

● Assist lecturer to address student inquiries related to garment construction and pattern making techniques.

 

3. Lesson Preparation:

● Assist in the preparation of lesson materials and demonstrations.

● Collaborate with the lecturer to develop engaging and informative class activities.

● Organize and set up materials needed for practical sessions.

 

4. Administration Duties:

● Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.

● Assist in administration related to grading of assignments and assessments.

● Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, organizing course materials, inventory administration etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BENEFITS

Qualifications:

 

● A degree in Fashion Design or related field.

● Proficiency in garment construction and pattern making techniques.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

● Organizational skills and attention to detail.
